Nikon full frame
Posted by admin in Photography on October 21, 2007
I’m so excited and I just can’t hide it
And I know, I know, I know, I know, I know I want you
er…
Anyway the D3 is announced – my desire to get into full frame digital may well be lest costly than moving over to Canon. Assuming that there will be a lower cost FX model coming out in the not too distant future.

Linkasm

Three weeks ago now I came across a bunch of great links – mostly from the LiquidTreat email newsletter. That had been the first time I’d read the newsletter in a while and it was unusually rewarding. I’ll take the time a bit more often.
The strongest flavours were supplied by core77.
Those Who Can, Teach. 1000 words of advice for design teachers. By Allan Chochinov.
All You Ever Needed to Know You Learned in…
1000 words for design students by Allan Chochinov
The hack2school cheat sheet
The blog of Jan Chipchase.
A link to Jerry Seinfeld’s Productivity Secret came from core77 somewhere. Much as I’d intended to follow that daily work advice – I’ve so
far failed to start. Originally I thought that a daily post would be the media for my design output. Now I look to getting the old skectch book out. I’ll be making one in when done here.
P*orkflow

*P[hotography-w]orkflow
Currently a mix of Bridge, Graphic Converter, Photoshop, iPhoto and Flickr. Photo workflow aint good.
Throw in a bit of terminal action jhead -mkexif when stuck with [enjoying] 35mm film. Oh – add Flickr Uploadr and Google Earth for the geotagging. Bit of a mess.
Too many apps. Too much system overhead. Not a lean-mean-workflow machine.
In fact a real hog.
A post

Time for a semi-drunken post.
It’s Saturday night and its been a long two or three weeks since my last poest (sic).
What gives?
Well, like the problem with good programmers, they say that all the good bloggers have gobs. I mean jobs. Me I’m not a good blogger and am not totally convinced of the raison d’être of this particular site. Main problem being it’s low priority in the order of things. Hence the title (and/or sub head). See I’ve not much time – what with work, family and friends. Even internet time is pulled on from the likes of Facebook and Flickr. Which brings me to a main question…
What’s the point of social networking sites when they become overrun by social gossip, spam quality jokes and verbal diarrhea? Much as I love flickr and Facebook – my problem is that these site are not “me”. Just an image, a caricature, determined by the foibles of other users and some “zeitgeist” shite that seems totally beyond control.
Funny that these first doors to being part of the community are also the end of individuality.
Funny that my first phrase here was “the key to being noticed”.
Well I guess I’ll revel in the anonymity. Plenty of that round here.
iPod running scared…

Not really. Currently there’s stuff all over the place about the bad closed Apple. I am sympathetic. Mmm. I wish for more interoperability in my iPod. And features too. To be able to sync one iPod with laptop AND desktop. Essentially the laptop should be a nano extension but with acces to all playlists. That would be just great. My journeys to and from Marbella are long and provide the opportunity to listen to lots of stuff. I’d like to be able to modify my playlists based on this. Sadly – the only place I can modify playlists right now is in Marbella. I’m in Cadiz province. Up a mountain.
Anyhows. Highlight right now is Ricardo Villalobos great textural stuff to work too. Last night – well I can’t remember what I listened to last night – Damn. I least I tagged a few with gold stars.
